My real estate appointments for the day are done and went well. I spoke to several clients about seeing homes for sale this coming week. Materials for tomorrow's Open House are all pulled together.
My husband Chip isn't here. The house is warm and quiet. I could:
- Start a loaf of the Best Bread Ever;
- Work on the things I learned at RainCamp NY on Jan. 12!
- Follow up on a couple leads.
- Run a load of laundry or three.
- Draft a couple blogs that will solve the world's real estate woes.
- Attempt all the above simultaneously - my usual plan.
But no, not this afternoon. I'm going to grab a non-real estate related book. The paper kind with a spine and covers, remember? Better yet, make it a novel!
Perhaps I'll be extra wicked and silence my phone...
Irene Kennedy, who is a NJ real estate agent with Weichert, Realtors, lives in Sussex County & works from the Hamburg office. Her primary market includes: Augusta, Branchville, Crystal Springs, Frankford, Franklin, Hamburg, Hampton, Hardyston, Highland Lakes, Lake Mohawk, Newton, Ogdensburg, Scenic Lakes, Sparta, Stockholm, Sussex, Vernon, Wantage.

Lead follow up first, then the book. Have a relaxing weekend!
Irene, down time is so important to keep us fresh. Enjoy your book! And turn the phone off - at least for a few hours.
I was at Raincamp, it was excellent! I'm fine tuning myself due to what i learned. I was in the front, third row, Platinum, where were you?
Irene, I was at CVS and saw a bunch of books on sale. I almost bought one that I really want, then thought that I would never read it anyway. I should have.... after seeing your post. I want to just shut down, it has been a busy and very difficult week here. You give me incentive!
Irene - What book did you decide to spend your afternoon with? I love book reviews from Active Rainers!
I watched Julie & Julia last night. If the book isn't too engaging, you could always cook Julia CHild's entire cookbook. Ugh! Sounds like a little much for me and way too fattening!
It was heaven!
Corrine - Spoken like a true Mom so I'm glad I read my book before your comment!
Maria - My batteries are fully charged this morning.
Luke - Ummm, I think you were right behind me.... Alas, I had CTS, Cindy Jones and Pat Kennedy to my right - those gals hogged my limelight! LOL
Gary - Dirty clothes are underrated!
Andrea - Sometimes a girl just has to be naughty. Buy that book and enjoy!
Susan - "Gone Tomorrow" by Lee Child. One of Jack Reacher novels. Wish I had had a new Mitch Rapp novel in which Irene Kennedy, head of the CIA, saves the world - she always outranks me on Google searches...
Melissa - Glad I'm not the only one who had some R&R yesterday!
Hey Irene nice "key points" you shared. I diffidently agree with all of them. I remember my mom and I were searching the MLS and some of the pictures that were displayed were pretty bad. I think in one of the photo someone was still sleeping in their bed LOL! Also, we learned so much working with home staggers on the Habitat for Humanity project. Just quickly, when we first stepped foot in the home after it was built it seemed so small, even tho there was no furniture...but once the furniture was placed inside....it felt bigger...visual illusion WoW!
Hey, Laura, thanks for stopping in to say hello! Hats off to you for participating in Habitat for Humanity.
Good for you making quality time for yourself! I'm sure it was awesome. I have a couple books that I haven't gotten to and it's been almost a year since I got them!
I hereby give you permission to NOT comment on all my posts, Sharon, as long as you use that extra time to read a page or 2.
I would have tackled all of the above. Except for when I've had a really successful week, then I pull out the guitar.
Steve,
Music lovers everywhere would weep if I attempted a guitar. Strum on, my friend, for those of us less gifted musically!
And what was the book, Irene?
Hey, Irene - You do know that you're just asking for trouble by doing something different, right? LOL
Jane - "Gone Tomorrow" by Lee Child. One of the Jack Reacher novels. A fun read but not great literature.
Russel - So reading has become daring?! I had a seller call the next morning - she actually WAITED because she had read my post and knew I was enjoying quiet time! What a nice gal.
Irene, I'm a HUGE reader. I watch very little televising so in the evening when I'm not on the rain I'm usually reading a book. At the moment I have two books going. I'm reading Sara Palin's book and I'm also reading one that Billy Graham wrote about the Holy Spirit.
We need down time for ourselves every now and again, dear Irene. Read that book and enjoy it to its very end, I say. Then pick up with the rest of life, until the next time a good book finds its way into your hands...
Marchel - I too enjoy books far more than the "boob tube."
William - Reading is FUNdamental, isn't it?
I've never brought anything non-real estate related to an open house, you just never know who you are going to offend. Maybe I should just not care and bring a book that I like. I actually offended someone when I was 20 reading "Willie Wonka" someone was telling me book store that it promoted drug use. I just looked at them and shook my head?

Todd,
Some folks dislike the Harry Potter series too but I just ate them up. Read what you want - perhaps making a brown-paper bag cover for it!
