This morning was the scheduled inspection on the home for sale at 12 High Crest Drive, Scenic Lakes-Vernon NJ. While I normally opt to be present at inspections, a final walk-through at a different listing of mine prevented that. With my seller's consent, I was going to get things rolling and then leave.
As the listing agent for this Sussex County house for sale, I had not meet the buyers. They are from a distant area of the Garden State; their agent from the adjacent county. The Mrs. was at work but I met the delightful husband. This gentleman explained he'd been using Google to learn more about life in Sussex County in general and Vernon in particular - before making an offer on my listing.
He kept finding my posts on Sussex County NJ real estate and lifestyle!
What a wonderful compliment! Before ever meeting him, I was enticing him and his wife to choose one of the homes for sale in Sussex County. And, even better, my post on 12 High Crest Drive in Scenic Lakes prompted him to tell his agent that he needed to see this listing. Lovely feedback on how a blog post impacts a first-time home buyer!
While my seller was pleased, this dynamic gal in her 80s was already aware of my online marketing of her home for sale. At the recent wedding of one of her granddaughter, she made all her family members watch the video.

Irene, You write such lovely posts about your area and it's beautiful homes, I'm not at all surprised someone found them and wants to see them! Good luck to you and I have no doubt many more will follow.
Irene - That's awesome, hopefully next time the buyer will contact you directly.
This is so cool Irene - and to think the 80 year old lady is touting your praises - how fun it that. You really do have such a knack of writing and drawing us in. Love it!
Irene I'm so impressed. It seems like the harder you work, the luckier you get!
What great local marketing. Who needs flyers, newspaper ads, etc. Throwing money away. Keep doing what your doing!!!
Kim - Thanks for your pats on the back.
Carole - As a blogging newbie, I had never thought about the impact of posts on someone already working with another agent. Appreciate your visit.
Michelle - That is beginning to happen too. But if my blog helped sell my listing, I'm a very happy camper!
Anna - The seller had already bragged to me about showing off her home online during the wedding weekend. Go, Grannie!
Kathleen - And right now I feel like the luckiest gal in all NJ!
Jenny - My Outside Blog has started to do amazing things. You're 100% right that this beats old-fashioned methods!
Irene Congratulations I really liked the part where the seller showed off your video at a wedding Karen
Karen,
This seller is my role model for aging! She just googled her street address and voila. Can never reach her live because she is out at a church function, Red Hat Club event, line dancing 3 times a week, down gambling in Atlantic City, dining with friends...
Irene, I am not at all surprised! You do such a great job of showcasing your listings.
Why, thank you, Pat! Each day I'm finding new pluses to ActiveRain - especially folks like you!
